Abstract painting found me the moment I stopped performing and started trusting. Not trusting a plan — there is no plan. Trusting the canvas.
I choose the music first. Then the canvas. Then I begin.
The first marks tell me what colors want to live here. The canvas speaks, and I have learned to listen. I move through the studio the way the painting moves — with my whole body, following the pull of something I can't always name but always recognize. I dance as I paint. The work knows when I'm holding back.
The neon is never an afterthought. It arrives at the beginning, anchoring the intention, and returns at the end — the final word, the thing that refuses to be quiet, the mark that makes the painting honest.

I am Selena Anne — fine artist, abstract painter, and interior designer working under the name Art by Selena Anne.
I did not arrive here through a straight line. I arrived here through the decision to be fully myself — and the willingness to let that show up on the canvas without apology.
My work lives in the tension between control and release. It is made for spaces that are confident enough to hold something that feels.
